Please remember my older posts regarding going mobile. By using this expression "go mobile" it does not mean go "responsive design". Plan sites to be mobile it is a complete different strategy than just adapting your site to different devices including smartphones.
I cannot emphasize enough the need to invest on going mobile.
If you company is about content, using responsive design is what you should aim to do, however if your company is about product sales, or any other product or services that need to conquer your user attention in order to make him/her user your site the best way is:
INVEST IN A PROPER MOBILE SITE that is planned since the beginning to the user in mind and how to respond to their need on the mobile level. Fail to to do so will make your competitor do it before you and when you wake up - you might be out of business.
Follow the news about mobile and how important this media has become. It is the future and the early you realize and invest on it the better chance you have to do not be kicked out of business because your competitor has been smarter and knew when to invest while you were waiting for it to happen. Knowing in what to invest will make a huge difference in the future of your business.
This is a real bomb news for the Mobile World
It means that mobile is growing so fast that any company that try to blind itself on investing all they can to go mobile it's fulling itself and it will have consequences in the future.
